Finn Harps U14 and U15 teams are to be accorded a civic reception by Donegal County Council, it was agreed today.

The underage teams both took home the top trophies from the National League of Ireland Cup in November. The U15s won 2-0 against Cork City, while the U14s beat Wexford Youths 4-2 on penalties in the final.

Cllr Gary Doherty said the victories warranted recognition.

Speaking at a council meeting today, Cllr Doherty said: “To achieve double success is a remarkable achievement for a relatively small club like Finn Harps.”

“It’s something for us as a county to be proud of,” he said, giving huge credit to all who made it happen.

The motion was seconded by Cllr Liam Doherty, and contact will soon be made with the teams to arrange the event.
