Covid-19 rates in Donegal stayed below the national average in the past fortnight, new figures show.

Donegal recorded 1,604 new cases of Covid-19 in the past 14 days. The 14 day incidence rate, as of Tuesday, was 1007.6 per 100,000, while the national average was 1314.6 per 100,000. Donegal was ranked number 21 on the list of county-by-county rates on Tuesday.

Looking more locally, just one local electoral area (LEA) in the county recorded higher case numbers compared to the previous fortnight.

Cases are up in the Donegal LEA, where 266 new cases were detected in the two weeks up to Monday 13th December.

Letterkenny, which has the highest incidence rate in Donegal, remains unchanged this week. All other areas recorded decreasing rates. All LEAs in Donegal were below the national average.
