A number of gifted Raphoe teenagers have recently recycled bikes for local good causes.

Some of the young people are involved in the Garda Youth Diversion Project.

They completed the ‘recycle bike project’ under the expert guidance of John Grant.

Some of the bikes being handed over to the Raphoe Family Resource Centre.

Inspector Mollahan called out to congratulate the boys on their excellent work and this week the boys handed the bikes over to two groups within their local community.

The beneficiaries are the Raphoe Family Resource Centre and Kindness of Strangers – Newtowncunningham.

“This was a massive achievement for the boys and we want to say a big well done to them all,” a Garda spokesperson said.

Garda Shane McGlinchey from Letterkenny Garda Station and Garda Catherine Callaghan, Community Policing, Lifford, assisted Nuala Plucknett from the Donegal GYDP in getting the recycle project off the ground.
