Gardaí in Donegal are urging people to make road safety a priority after three arrests in Letterkenny at the weekend.
Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit conducted a number of Mandatory Intoxicant Testing Checkpoints on Sunday and caught drivers who were suspected to be under the influence of intoxicants.
Meanwhile, the Roads Policing Unit in Donegal Town issued a number of Fixed Charge Penalty Notices over the weekend for speeding offences.
They also arrested a motorist who was detected driving while disqualified. Court proceedings have commenced, gardaí said.
A spokesperson said: “Please make road safety a priority and never take unnecessary risks. Slow down and never ever drive while under the influence of alcohol/drugs.”
