Hundreds of members of Ógra Fianna Fáil will be making their way to Donegal next spring for their national conference.
Delegates selected the location at the Ógra Fhianna Fáil National Council meeting on Monday.
A bid was organised and placed by the Donegal unit of Ógra Fhianna Fáil to host the conference, which would see the convention in April taking place in the Waterfront Hotel, formerly the Óstán Na Rossán, Dungloe.
The National Youth Conference is an annual event for members of Ógra Fhianna Fáil to gather and to discuss and debate over policies, motions, and current affairs.
“It was the opinion of the members of Ógra Fhianna Fáil that holding the National Youth Conference in Donegal would be an effective way of showing the commitment Ógra Fhianna Fáil has to the Gaeltacht and indeed rural Ireland,” said a spokesperson for Donegal Ógra Fhianna Fáil.
“The last National Youth Conference held in Donegal was in 2009, when hundreds of young people gathered in the Great Northern Hotel, Bundoran, for what was a fantastic weekend for Ógra Fhianna Fáil and Fianna Fáil in Donegal.”
