Letterkenny Rotary Club have organised a short term collection of used Eye Glasses for sending out to Kenya in the New Year.
The glasses will be sent to the Coleman Eye Clinic in Rombo Village, Kenya, Africa early in 2022 which is run by an Irish Registered Charity, ‘the Light of Maasai’.
This Charity is supported by Rotary International and run by an Irish Lady Elaine Bannon.
If you have an old pair of glasses about the house that you no longer use, then you could support this Collection simply by dropping your unwanted glasses into any of the Letterkenny donation boxes which are at Anne McLaughlin Optometrist Port Road, Specsavers, Port Road, McQuaid Opticians in the Courtyard Shopping Centre or in the HSE Eye Clinic at St Conal’s Hospital.
The newly completed Eye Clinic with an operating theatre is ready for cataract operations and a full free service will be available to the local community. See ‘lightofmaasai.org’ for more details.
