The emergency services including an air ambulance are at the scene of a serious collision on the outskirts of Ballyshannon.
The crash between a car and a van happened close to the Cavangarden junction for Cashelard.
Traffic has been reduced to one lane as the emergency services deal with the situation.
One casualty, a woman in her 80s, was taken away by the air ambulance.
A Garda spokesperson confirmed “Gardaí attended the scene of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles that occurred at approximately 2:25pm on Tuesday, 28th December, 2021, in Ballyshannon, County Donegal.
“The driver of one of the vehicles, a woman in her 80s was taken to Galway University Hospital for treatment of her injuries. No other injuries were reported.
“The road has since reopened fully.”
