Daniel O’Donnell fans will be looking forward to not having to move from the sofa tonight as the Kincasslagh man features on 3 different channels tonight.
There may be a clash of times, but between +1 channels and recording programmes, some lucky Daniel fans will be able to start the ‘Daniel-thon’ on TG4 with ‘Opry Le Daniel’ at 9:20pm.
Daniel invites Philomena Begley on stage as she celebrates 60 years on the road. Her friends will join her on the Opry stage to celebrate her amazing musical journey. Friends such as Mick Flavin, Sandy Kelly, Louise Morrissey, Mike Denver, Claudia Buckley, Aidan Quinn, Olivia Douglas and many more make this a night to remember.
‘Daniel at Sixty’ features on RTÉ One at 9:25pm, a profile of the singers life, with contributions by the man himself as well as his family and friends in an archive trip down memory lane.
His wife Majella, sister Margo and eldest brother John talk about their relationships with Daniel over the years, while his best friend since school PJ Sweeney, mentor Philomena Begley, Dungloe postman Owen Doyle and the two Donegal boys who produced his viral Down at the Lah De Dah video also pay tribute to the man, alongside famous faces wishing him a happy birthday, including Cliff Richard, Garth Brooks and Nathan Carter.
For those who don’t have access to +1 or recording channels, Daniel O’Donnell: The Boy from Donegal, is on BBC One NI at 22:35, just 5 minutes before the end of ‘Opry Le Daniel.’ The BBC1 NI showing is the same as the RTÉ One showing but with different names.
