The Cathaoirleach of Donegal has called for the reopening of a Covid-19 test centre in Inishowen.
Cllr Jack Murray said the demand for tests signals an urgent need for another centre in the county.
There are currently two HSE testing sites in the county – in Letterkenny and Donegal Town. As of this morning, neither centre has any appointments available.

As of 9am this morning, there are no tests available in Donegal
Cllr Murray said he has been inundated by people who are concerned about the lack of a Covid testing centre in Inishowen.
“While the head of the HSE describes the current spread of the virus as ‘absolutely running rife’, we await the reopening of a test centre in Buncrana – now is when it’s surely needed most,” he said.
A pop-up test centre at Cockhill Health Centre Buncrana closed at the end of September.
Cllr Murray said it’s time to review the decision.
He said: “As well as being much more accessible for people from Inishowen, an additional centre here would help alleviate the bottleneck in Letterkenny where many people simply can’t get an appointment.
“When they closed the Buncrana centre this year, we were assured that they’d keep the decision under review. Surely the demand now speaks for itself and we need a facility again.”
