The annual New Year’s Day swim in Rathmullan takes place at 12 noon, with proceeds in aid of local St Joseph’s National School & Donegal Hospice.
However, due to the low tide at midday, swimmers are advised for their own safety to wear old trainers or water socks, as pebbles or emerging rocks could be an impediment when racing into the water.
The organisers have urged as many people as possible to support the socially distanced event.
Of course, there will be hot refreshments for swimmers afterwards.
