The National Lottery has confirmed that a Donegal Lotto player has finally come forward to start the claim process for a prize worth €29,273 which they won on Wednesday 20th October.

The lucky Donegal player purchased their ticket at Gallagher’s Stop n Shop in Pettigo.

But when the winner came forward the lottery send out an SOS to find the winner over Christmas.

They are now set to claim their prize ahead of the claim deadline on 18th January.

A National Lottery spokesperson told Donegal Daily “We were absolutely thrilled to hear from this winner who contacted us just after Christmas.

“It will be a lovely boost for the player to kick start 2022 with nearly €30,000 and we are delighted that they did not miss out on this prize.

“This highlights that it has never been more important for Lotto players to check their tickets after each draw due to the increased prize boost at lower tiers because of the €19.06 million jackpot cap.”
