Tragic Donegal dad Andrew McGinley said he will never be able to welcome his wife back into his life or their family home.

Deirdre Morley is currently in the Central Mental Hospital following the deaths of the couple’s three children in January, 2020.

Mr McGinley, who is originally from Donegal Town, said his life with his wife is over but said he is committed to her care.

He said “It can never be normal again for either of us. I know that I have changed completely as a person.

“If I can help her treatment team or her legal team in any way then I’m happy to do so and she knows that as well.”

Ask if she is welcome back to the family home he told the Star newspaper “Absolutely no. No.

“With regards to Deirdre I struggle a lot because all I really hear is Conor’s last words. They resound in my head quite a lot.

“So, there is not future with myself and Dee.”

Andrew said despite the fact that it coming up to the second anniversary of his children’s deaths on January 29th, it seems lot shorter.

“It seems like it was only six months ago, The last two years I feel have just passed me by. I feel like time as stood still.

“If I try to do bits and pieces every day, that just helps me more than focussing on something major on their anniversary,” he said.
