Motorists are being urged to take extreme care this morning due to snow and ice.
Snow fell in a number of areas Donegal early this morning, while road temperatures are forecast to remain close to zero for the early morning rush.
Donegal County Council gritters / ploughs are in operation on all routes since 5am.
A status yellow snow/ice warning is in place until 11am this morning. Met Eireann is forecasting that widespread showers of rain, sleet and snow will continue this morning along with a chance of isolated thunderstorms and hail. During the afternoon showers will tend to die off but showery outbreaks of rain will develop in the west during the evening.
People are being advised to please allow extra time if travelling
