They were one of the first to introduce outdoor dining pods when the Covid pandemic hit.
Tobins outdoor dining at the famous Letterkenny Service Station in Letterkenny firmly established itself as a safe place to eat while still enjoying the quality and value of the shop’s deli, diner and ice-cream parlour.
But now owner Eddie Tobin has gone one step further to ensure that his customers can’t ever complain about the cold – even in Donegal!
The well-known businessman wants to make sure that customers not only enjoy their food but are themselves nice and toasty while they do so.
Eddie has just installed heaters into SIX of the covered pods set at the back of the Letterkenny business located on the Port Road.
He said people have really started to enjoy the outdoor eating experience which he reckons is here to stay for the moment at least.

“Some of our customers still prefer to eat outside and the pods are very comfortable and people can have that little bit of privacy yet still having plenty of space when they meet up.
“The only thing was that the odd person felt a little bit cold at times. Well we do live in Donegal and unfortunately there’s little any of us can do about the weather.
“But the heaters are a great solution and they really heat up the pods for our customers. The customers can turn them on when they want a bit of heat and we’re delighted with them.
“It just gives people an option but still ensuring that they are warm and comfortable while they eat with us.”
And while the temperature at Tobins may have been raised a degree or two with the new heaters, the quality of service and and food is still at the highest standard you’d expect from Eddie, Annette and family.
