Registration is now being taken for a FREE fitness and wellbeing programme with the No Barriers Foundation in Letterkenny.

The online course invites people to exercise from home, learn how to become more active in 2022, stay connected with others, and most importantly, take time out of your day to switch off.

Starting from Thursday 20th January at noon, the virtual classes will involve a full exercise programme with experienced coaches, followed by a Tea & Talk session to see how everybody is doing.

This programme is open to anyone, anywhere!

All you need to know:

When is the course?
Classes will be held at 12noon every Thursday, beginning from 20th January 202

How many weeks does it last?
Twelve weeks in total – you’ll get to enjoy eight weeks of exercise classes and four weeks of educational talks

How much does it cost?
This is completely FREE, thanks to the support of Donegal County Council’s Development Fund Initiative.

Who is this class for?
People of any fitness level are welcome, and there is no age limit.

What type of exercises will I be doing?
Our coaches will be guiding you through a fun range of aerobic, resistance, balance and flexibility exercises. We’ll suggest adjustments for people of various abilities.

Will I need any equipment?
We would recommend having resistance bands and dumbbells to hand, but we can also suggest household items to use instead.

What is the Tea and Talk session afterwards?
After each class, we will host a light chat session after to see how everybody is doing. As well as exercise, we’d like to help people connect as a community.

Who will be coaching me?
We have an experienced team of physiotherapists, an occupational therapist and fitness instructors who are on-hand to share their advice and answer any questions you may have about your own health. The No Barriers Foundation is an inclusive gym facility for all.

How else will I benefit from taking part?
Over 12 weeks you will become more active, stay connected with others, and most importantly, take time out of your day to switch off! We understand that there is a lot of negativity and concern about health these days, so our course seeks to promote good mental health through the benefits of exercise. Through these difficult times we can all mind our own physical and mental health and wellbeing by adding healthy and helpful habits to our daily and weekly routines. The No Barriers team is here to help guide you with information and tips on how to plan to do things that will help you keep well through the coming months.

Sounds good, how can I sign up?
Simply email hello@nobarriers.ie or call 0838855056 to register, and we’ll be happy to answer any other questions. Once you’re signed up, we’ll send out a link to join the first class at 12noon on 20th January.

No Barriers is a non-profit organisation that breaks down barriers to exercise and physical activity. We help anyone with a disability to get fitter and stronger improving both their physical and mental health. We have an inclusive centre in Letterkenny for allowing both one to one and group exercise sessions.

No Barriers also provides access to the only Ekso Bionics exoskeleton suit in the North West. The specialist suit enables people with limited mobility to walk and rehabilitate in a way that was never possible before this technology. Find out more on our website www.nobarriers.ie or send us a message to get in touch.
