Have we a lucky multi-million Donegal Lotto winner tonight?

Donegal Lotto players are eagerly checking their tickets after tonight’s massive draw!

The National Lottery has said it experienced technical difficulties with its website and app due to high traffic volumes ahead of this evening’s ‘must-win’ draw.

It has issued an apology to players who have been impacted.

The winning numbers drawn were: 2, 9, 16, 30, 37, 40 and bonus number 23.

The National Lottery said that ticket sales ahead of tonight’s draw were “incredibly strong”.

Tonight’s draw was a must-win affair after more than seven months without a jackpot winner.

The jackpot has not been won since 9 June and has been capped at €19.06 million since early October.

This evening, if there’s no still no winner of the jackpot, it will flow down to the winners in lower tiers. This will likely result in several winners.

National Lottery spokesperson, Fran Whearty, said that the National Lottery’s retail partners reported “incredibly strong” sales of tickets today.

He said while this is an “exciting draw for players”, he encouraged people to play responsibly, adding that if people usually buy one ticket, they should stick with that routine.

Approval for the must-be-won draw was granted by the Regulator of the National Lottery this week. Must-win draws will be held in the future to prevent such long rollovers from happening again.

In future, jackpots will be guaranteed to be won no more than five draws after the cap has been reached.
