It will clear later to become dry and bright across the county, according to Met Éireann.

The national forecaster says any patchy light rain and drizzle will quickly clear, leaving a largely dry and bright day with long spells of sunshine.

Highest temperatures of 6 or 7 degrees in a light to moderate northwesterly breeze, becoming light and variable by evening.

Tonight, it will be dry and very cold with long clear spells. Lowest temperatures of -3 to +1 degrees generally, with a widespread frost developing.

Mist and fog will develop too in light breezes.
