Happy New Year, Our door is open!
We would like to wish all our families and the wider community of Raphoe a happy, peaceful and brighter 2022!
Our door is open however in light of safety in the community.
Face to face programmes and activities will be postponed until 24th January 2022.
We will continue to provide support on: Any family issue; Food support; Senior Alert Scheme and Printing/internet Service.

Parental workshops – Positive Behaviour & Toilet Training via zoom
Delighted to offer parents of children aged 2-6 years two parental workshops delivered by #Onlineworkshopsbyemma. Places are free but limited.
Positive behaviour
Wednesday 9th Feb 22 from 7.30PM – 9PM via zoom. Cost is free, suitable for parents of children aged 2 – 6 years.
Topics include: Understanding why children misbehave, power of praise, appropriate expectations, behaviours to ignore/not ignore, managing tantrums, top tips and strategies to help encourage positive behaviour.
Toilet Training
Wednesday 16th February 22 from 7.30 – 9PM via zoom. Cost is free
Are you thinking of toilet training a toddler? Come along for info on: how to know when your child is ready, how to prepare/plan for toilet training, top tips for making it a success.

Mindful Meditation with Owen Donnelly
Delighted to say Owen Donnelly will be back with his Mindful Meditation Class on Monday 17th January at 6pm via Zoom.
Mindfulness is one strategy that can reduce stress and anxiety.
Mindfulness is a way of being. Practicing mindfulness means paying attention to what’s happening in the moment and accepting those experiences and feelings without judgement.
Why not give it a try from the comfort of your own home.

Intermediate Zoom Art
Starting Thursday 20th January 2022 from 11AM to 1PM via Zoom with local artist Celine Mc Glynn, if you have dabbled a bit before and would like to learn more or even if you are just a beginner please contact Marie on 0749145796 or 0873641503 to take part.
Cost is €10. This project is funded by Donegal ETB Community Education support Programme.
Raphoe Boxing Club
The winners of the clubs annual Christmas Draw were as follows: 1st Prize Oven Ready Turkey – Dominic McCafferty, Convoy; 2nd Prize Bottle of Vodka and Box of Biscuits, Niamh Crawford, SOS Tyres Raphoe; 3rd Prize Bottle of Whiskey and Box of Sweets, Chloe Moore, Manorcunningham; 4th Prize Hair Style Voucher, Catherine Mangan, Raphoe; 5th Prize Voucher for McElhinney’s Store, Clayton Doherty, Newtowncunningham; and 6th Prize Christmas Cake, Katie Lynch, Ballybofey.

Raphoe Walking Group
Raphoe Walking Group meets every Thursday morning at 10.30am, here in the FRC. Come along and join the group for a walk and a cuppa!!
Raphoe Women’s Group
Raphoe women’s Group meets every second Tuesday night, via zoom.

Family Support
As a parent or guardian, parenting is one of the most rewarding things you will ever do, however the Family Resource Centre recognises at times life throws up challenges and these can be overwhelming.
Some examples of the support we can offer; making routines, establishing boundaries and dealing with challenging behaviours.
The Family Resource Centre can help through listening ear, parenting programmes, one to one support, and a drop in clinic to offer support on issues that are affecting home life.
We also provide sign posting or referrals to other services.

Food Packages
If you or your family need food, the FRC distributes food on a fortnightly basis for anyone that needs that extra bit of support.
Seniors Alert Scheme
Raphoe Family Resource Centre is registered under Pobal’s Senior Alert Scheme to provide personal alarms to those over 65 years living alone for significant periods of time during the day, or is a carer to someone else in their household.
The purpose of the scheme is to enable older persons of limited means to continue to live securely in their own homes with confidence, independence and peace of mind providing them with a free personal monitored alarm which can be worn as a pendant or around their wrist like a watch.

Helping Hands Scheme
Do you live alone or are no longer in a position, due to age or disability, to carry out odd jobs?
Raphoe Family Resource Centre, supported by DLDC Tus Scheme, has a helping hands project where odd jobs can be carried out such as grass cutting, path clearing, tidy ups, painting etc.
