LYIT Virtual Information Evening – Kickstart the new year with an abundance of opportunities

Letterkenny Institute of Technology (LYIT) will host a Virtual Information Evening on Wednesday, 19th January from 5 – 8 pm.

There is an abundance of opportunities available at LYIT to suit the needs of all learners. Whether you are a mature student, a Leaving Certificate student, or an early school leaver there is something for you!

LYIT recognises the tough year it has been for many. The pandemic has seen job losses across several sectors and the institute is here to support those who are unemployed to enhance their future employment opportunities. There is also plenty of choice available for those in employment who would like to upskill or reskill.

The Access programme at LYIT, is aimed at adult learners who wish to return to study after a break in their educational experience and who may not have benefited from, or had access to, previous educational opportunities. The institute has 54 CAO programmes on offer for leaving certificate students and mature students. In addition, there’s a suite of Executive masters and postgraduate opportunities available. Springboard+ places are available on a number of programmes which offers funded/part-funded places to learners. Many postgraduate and part-time programmes now offer a flexible online delivery.

The Virtual Information Evening provides a platform to find out more about programmes and discover the options available to you. Academic and support staff will be on hand to answer your queries and informative webinars will take place throughout the evening. You can also take a campus tour and find out more about applications, grants and accommodation.

Talking about the event, President Paul Hannigan says: “As we move towards becoming the Atlantic Technological University it is important that we continue to offer opportunities for learners at all levels across both the Letterkenny and Killybegs campuses.  There are pathways forward for everyone and we would encourage them to take the first step.”

There has never been a more exciting time to study at LYIT. The Institute will be designated as a Technological University on 1 April 2022 along with partners GMIT and IT Sligo. Students will graduate with university degrees and the collaboration will allow students even more pathways to continue their educational journey to masters or doctorate level.

You can join LYIT’s live Virtual Information Evening event at www.lyit.ie.
