Declan Bonner’s McKenna Cup side will be without over 10 of his panel tomorrow night due to Sigerson Cup games also on tomorrow.
Donegal take on Derry in the semi-final of the competition at MacCumhaill Park tomorrow (Tuesday) night and nearly half of the starting team from Saturday’s win against Antrim in Portglenone will be missing due to games for their respective colleges and universities.
LYIT travel to the Connacht GAA Air Dome to face University of Limerick which will likely see the loss of Peader Mogan Conor O’Donnell and Jason McGee.
Jamie Brennan and Shane O’Donnell are listed in the panels of NUI Galway and DCU respectively while Jeaic MacCeallabhuí is in the UCD panel.
Rory O’Donnell (LYIT), Jamie Grant and Mark Curran (Both DCU) who all made their debuts in the opening McKenna Cup game against Down, are all featured in the panels of their respective colleges while Ryan McFadden, who came on in the opener, is also in the LYIT panel.
Oisin Gallen (DCU) has yet to make an appearance this season but will also be missing, while Eoghan Ban Gallagher and Brendan McCole may also miss out.
While Donegal reached the semi final in 2020, they pulled out of the competition due to the clash with the Sigerson Cup opening round, but larger panels allowed now means the same thing will not happen again as the game will go ahead tomorrow night as scheduled.
