Glenties GAA club has discovered they have a very famous supporter after Paul Mescal was spotted sporting their shorts.

The Irish actor has appeared in pictures this week wearing the recognisable shorts while in Australia.

The shorts may be a very normal sight around Glenties, but they stood out even more on the streets of Fitzroy in Melbourne.

The Normal People star is known for making fashion statements in O’Neills GAA shorts, but he also takes advantage of the hype to help good causes. Last year, Mescal signed a pair of Donegal shorts for a raffle to raise money to fix the footbridge in Carrick.

Mescal is currently in Oz to begin work on a new science fiction film, Foe, alongside fellow Irish actor Saoirse Ronan.
