The Taoiseach is expected to make an announcment on the easing of many Covid restrictions tomorrow.

Early reports speculate that the 8pm curfew will be lifted for pubs and restrictions to stay open until midnight. A partial return to the office is also expected to be reintroduced. Restrictions on the number of people at live events and the wedding guest limit of 100 will also be examined.

NPHET meets today to examine the public health situation. A Cabinet meeting will follow tomorrow to consider the latest recommendations from the team.

The hospitality industry is pushing for the goverment to lift restrictions as soon as possible. Green Party leader Eamon Ryan said the rules likely won’t be eased this weekend but changes would happen from next week.
