Four further deaths related to Covid-19 have been recorded in Donegal in the past week.
The total number of Covid-related deaths in the county is now 325.
The HPSC reports that 6,087 deaths related to Covid-19 have been recorded in Ireland since the pandemic began. This includes 66 deaths notified in January 2022 so far.
Almost 40% of deaths (2,264 patients) were linked to infection outbreaks in nursing homes, while 15% (883 patients) were linked to hospital outbreaks.
Donegal’s 7-day Covid-19 incidence rate is currently 1971.2 per 100,000, with 3138 new cases notified between 9th-15th January). The weekly incidence rate is down from the first week of 2022, when it was 2208.7 per 100,000.
