The owners of a local pub say they were ‘blown away’ after a customer donated a massive €1k to their ‘Covid jar’.

Last week, Donegal Daily revealed that management at the Alt Bar in Killea are so fed up of hearing about Covid in the bar that any mention of the word and you’ll have to cough up €2.

All money that goes into the ‘C jar’ goes directly to Donegal Hospice.

“We were blown away with Raymond O Donnell’s donation last night towards our “C” jar,” they said on their Facebook page.

Generous Raymond O’Donnell putting the massive cheque into the ‘C jar’.

“It is all going to Donegal Hospice. Raymond you have a heart of gold and have always been behind any charity events once asked. On behalf of everyone in the bar, staff and customers, thank you once again Raymond.”

The fine jar was set up in good spirit and all money raised will be donated, as promised, to the hospice.
