Garda appeal after serious sexual assaults on teenage girls in Sligo

Gardai are appealing for witnesses after a two incidents of alleged sexual assaults in Sligo Town on Saturday.

Two teenage girls were allegedly assaulted in the Ballydoogan, Oakfield, and Maugheraboy areas of Sligo, between 8:00 pm and 10:00 pm on January 22.

A GAA grounds in the Maugheraboy area and a nearby house were sealed off on Sunday in relation to the investigation.

Gardaí are calling on any road users who may have been travelling through these areas and who may have dash-cam footage are asked to make this available to officers.

In addition, gardaí are keen to speak to taxi drivers who were working at the time and who may have taken a fare from Sligo to Manorhamilton, to come forward.
