Mountain Top break-ins could be linked – Gardaí

Gardaí are investigating two criminal incidents at Mountain Top Letterkenny last Saturday morning.

The first incident occurred at a car dealership, where vehicles were deliberately damaged, before a nearby shop was robbed a short time later.

One line of inquiry taken by gardaí is that the two crimes may be linked.

Entry was gained to a car dealership between 3am-4am in the early hours of Saturday morning. Damage was caused to a number of vehicles.

Later, a group of youths stole from a local shop. The alarm of the premises was activated at 5.35 am and gardaí discovered that a small window was opened at the front of the premises. CCTV footage showed three males on the premises, and one reached into the window and lifted a packet of batteries. They fled the scene.

Gardaí say two of the males were wearing dark clothing and the third was wearing a grey tracksuit and a white
baseball cap.

Entry was not gained to the shop, but gardaí are keen to speak with anybody who may have been travelling through Mountain Top on the night of the incidents. Anyone with dashcam footage is asked to make it available to gardaí.

Contact Letterkenny garda station on 0749167100.
