Stephen Doherty joins Institute on loan

Finn Harps player Stephen Doherty has joined Institute on loan in search of consistent first team football.

The young midfielder played 12 times for Ollie Horgan’s side last year, with the majority of them cameos coming off the bench.

The Northern Irish Championship season ends in the summer so Doherty will be hoping to prove his worth before rejoining the squad for the second half of the season.

Doherty was one of four signings made by ‘Stute today along with Gary Henderson, Ian Parkhill and Kay Riley.

Doherty has been a prominent player for Finn Harps at under-17 and under-19 level but has found it tough to cement a place in the first team with vast competition to battle with.
