Gardaí are on the hunt for a lone male after a young woman was attacked while out walking in Co Kilkenny.
The incident, which occurred on Monday afternoon, is being described as a possible attempted abduction.
It is understood that the 17-year-old girl was walking on her own near the Durrow Road in north Kilkenny when she was approached by a man. The girl sustained a non-life threatening injury and was brought to hospital for treatment for shock.
“The male is best described, at this time, as a white male in his 40s with an Irish accent,” gardaí said.
A large Garda operation, involving a Garda helicopter, took place around the village of Johnstown near where the incident occurred.
Anyone with information has been asked to contact the Garda station in Kilkenny on 0567775000 or any garda station.
