Fintown’s new walking trail takes a step forward

A new walking loop in Fintown has gone to tender, with Donegal County Council seeking interested contractors.

The project will involve the construction of a two-kilometre route on the banks of the River Finn, east of Fintown.

The public walkway will incorporate existing roads within the Coillte Forestry Plantation, as well as the creation of new paths and a small car park to facilitate up to 10 cars.

The project was granted planning permission in September 2021. It progressed further last week with the publication of an etender for the works. The deadline for responses is 24th February 2022.
