Convoy’s Ryan Griffin tied for first place to win the R&A Student Tour Series in Portugal.
Griffin, representing NUI Maynooth, was in the top 3 for virtually the whole three days, tied second after day one by shooting par on the Triola Golf Resort.
The Donegal man took the lead by one shot going into the final day but three successive bogies saw him fall into second place before clutching up with a birdie on the 18th to tie for first with fellow Maynooth student Jordan Boles and Englishman Max Weaver.
The two Maynooth students saw off Weaver in the first play-off hole and unable to be separated after 3 holes before it got dark, both men were declared joint-winners.
