Covid-19: Another 11,255 new cases and 63 deaths in Ireland

ANOTHER 11,255 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed by Irish health officials today.

The figure includes 5,677 PCR-confirmed cases, as well as 5,578 positive antigen tests registered through the HSE portal.

A further 63 deaths  related to COVID-19 have been newly notified in the past week. This brings the total number of Covid-related deaths to 6,291.

The Department of Health says that there are now 627 Covid-19 patients in hospitals (down 19 from yesterday), of whom 68 are in ICU (down four from yesterday).

The number of patients with Covid-19 in Letterkenny University Hospital has increased to 23 – up seven from Monday.

As of 8pm last night, the hospital recorded 23 patients with Covid-19, including one patient with the virus in ICU.
