A man has appeared in court facing further charges in connection with possession of a large haul of child pornography.
Paul Cowell, with a former address at Meenacladdy, Gaoth Dobhair, appeared at Letterkenny District Court.
Detective Garda Enda Jennings gave details of further charges.
The 53-year-old accused, who is originally from England but living in Donegal for more than 15 years, was arrested on December 11th last at his home and has been in custody since.
He is charged with having more than 200 movies depicting child abuse as well as 412 images of the same abuse.
The court was told that the victims in the case are not known to Cowell.
Judge Alan Mitchell noted the size and details in the charge sheet file on Cowell.
Cowell is to be sent forward for trial at a future sitting of the circuit court.
