The highest level weather alert has been issued for Cork and Kerry tonight as Storm Eunice approaches.
The north west is expected to escape the worst of the storm, but very windy conditions, sleet and snow are expected to disrupt travel in Donegal.
Storm Eunice will arrive tonight, bringing stong winds, rain and snow to Ireland on Friday morning. Met Eireann is warning of potential damage to power lines, fallen trees and dangerous driving conditions.
Southwest or cyclonic winds becoming northwest will reach mean speeds of 65 to 80 km/h with gusts up to 130 km/h.
Donegal will be under a status yellow alert tomorrow, from 1am until 3pm.
Heavy rain and hail are forecast for Ulster today, with rain and sleet and snow spreading to all areas tonight after midnight. There is a risk of coastal flooding at high tide early on Friday morning, with lowest temperatures of 0 to 4 degrees tonight.
