Hundreds of people across the county are still without power after many outages from the strong winds which struck Donegal overnight.

There were dozens of small interruptions as people slept across the county while the wind from Storm Franklin howled outside.

Some haven’t been so lucky with power still off in many places.

More than 250 homes are without power in Ardara.

Hundreds of other homes in Convoy and in the Ballyraine area of Letterkenny are still without power from the early hours of this morning.

ESB crews are working to restore power in these areas.

Electricity is not expected to return to affected homes in Convoy and Letterkenny until around 11.30am.

There are also reports of outages in other areas including Dungloe, Milford and Glenties.
