Gardaí in Donegal are urging motorists to drive slowly and leave extra distance between cars today due to snow and ice on the roads.
Roads Policing Units from Buncrana and Donegal Town have warned that roads are in a poor condition in many areas.
They offered this advice: “Avoid over steering, harsh braking and harsh acceleration. Use the highest gear possible to avoid wheel spin. Select a low gear when travelling downhill especially if through bends. Use dipped headlights in heavy snow. Watch out for vulnerable road users and allow extra space when overtaking them.”
