A Special Meeting of Donegal County Council is underway to discuss the Enhanced Concrete Defective Blocks Scheme.
The meeting was called on the back of an emergency motion to the council on Monday, submitted by Cllr Gary Doherty and seconded by Cllr Patrick McGowan, calling for extra time to be dedicated for councillors to discuss the scheme. The motion was signed by 12 councillors from across the political spectrum.
Cathaoirleach Jack Murray outlined that topics up for discussion include the need for community supports, the emergency repairs grants and how to ensure the scheme does not have a ‘surprise’ fault when signed into legislation.
