Donegal businesswoman turns talents to supporting Ukrainians in need

A Donegal businesswoman is using her skills to show solidarity with Ukraine in a creative way.

Emma Gallagher from Emmazing Melts was so moved by the conflict that she has created a bespoke charity wax melt bearing the colours of the Ukrainian flag. The Convoy woman is donating all profits to charities that provide immediate medical and humanitarian relief to families dealing with the suffering, death, injury and separation caused by the Russian invasion.

“People who went to work only 3 days ago are now struggling even for the basic necessities,” Emma said, as she appealed for donations which will be shared with the Red Cross and United Help Ukraine to help those affected get food, water, first aid, medicines, warm clothes and shelter.

The Emmazing charity wax melts are handmade using rapeseed oil and coconut wax, scented in the popular fragrance in Lenor Fresh Unstoppables. One melt is €3.50 and can be purchased through Facebook (click here) or Instagram (click here).

All support is greatly appreciated.

Emmazing Melts was launched in April 2020.

Emma explains the origins of her creative business: “My house would have always had a wax melt burning in the evenings and this led me to becoming interested in the wax melt making process.

“I loved the idea of letting out my creative side in creating lots of colour combinations and designs. After lots of research and endless hours of practice I found the perfect wax which was rapeseed and coconut which has a low carbon footprint, is eco friendly without compromising on quality of scent throw.

“In time I then continued to launch additional products such as room sprays, carpet fresheners and sizzler salts with hopefully room to continue to grow and develop my love for all things home fragrance. I am based from my home near Convoy/Ballybofey but regularly in Letterkenny for work.”
