A total of 599 drivers were clocked breaking speed limits across the country in the last 24 hours.
The detections were made by gardaí during National Slow Down Day, a day dedicated to awareness and patrols.
An Garda Síochána and GoSafe checked the speed of 125,572 vehicles between 7am Tuesday and 7am this morning.
Among the most notable speeds in Donegal were:
- 90km/h in a 60km/h Zone on the R267 Portnason in Ballyshannon.
- 124km/h in a 100km/h Zone on the N13 Listellian Letterkenny Donegal
- 78km/h in a 50km/h Zone on the R265 Porthall Ballindrait Donegal
- 81km/h in a 60km/h Zone on the N15 Mullandrait Stranorlar Donegal
An Garda Síochána continues to appeal to drivers to comply with speed limits in order to reduce the number of speed related collisions, save lives and reduce injuries on our roads.
