One person has been hospitalised following a crash outside Ballybofey this evening.

Emergency services rushed to the scene of the single-vehicle collision on the back road between Ballybofey and Crossroads, Killygordon.

It is believed the incident occurred at around 5pm at a spot known locally as ‘Quinns of Carn’ in the townland of Carn.

A number of ambulances, as well as the Stranorlar Fire Service, rushed to the scene.

“The incident involved one vehicle. One occupant of the vehicle was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital by ambulance,” a garda spokesperson said.

 Enquiries are ongoing.

The road was closed for a time but has since reopened.
