Finn Valley College in Stranorlar is transitioning into an exciting new era with the launch of the Transition Year Programme (TYP).

This is the first time, in the history of the school, that the Transition Year Programme is being offered to students. This is an excellent addition to the catalogue of programmes already on offer in Finn Valley College.

Ms Ashlean Mc Geehan, alongside Principal Alan Thompson, researched the viability of the TY Programme and are now delighted to have pioneered it to fruition. The school launched the TY Programme on Friday the 4th of March with the first Transition Year class of 2022-2023.

Ms Mc Geehan addressed students and staff explaining that these students are making history and that this programme is a fantastic opportunity for them to discover new talents, explore new ways of learning, engage in new experiences, have fun, mature and learn, all of which will better prepare them for senior cycle and life in general.

Mr Thompson, along with Deputy Principal Kathleen Boland, wished the students every success in their new educational adventure and introduced Ms Martina Garry, the Transition Year Coordinator, who will no doubt bring great energy and drive to the Transition Year Programme.
