Donegal County Council were forced to carry out emergency works to a private property in Ballybofey this week over safety concerns.

The council were alerted after slates fell from the roof of the former Mulrine’s drapery shop onto the main street footpath.

The works were carried out on the vacant property on Friday evening and part of the footpath was sealed off as a precautionary measure.

Local Councillor, Patrick McGowan, said the council are trying to get in touch with the registered owner of the property.
