The sun is expected to make a special appearance for St. Patrick’s Day parades and the double Bank Holiday weekend, according to early forecasts.
It will be dry and settled for much of the week, with sunshine and warm temperatures arriving just in time for local parades on Thursday.
Met Eireann’s forecast says: “St. Patrick’s Day will bring a mix of well scattered showers with dry and sunny periods. The longest dry spells will be in the south and east. Highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees with moderate to fresh southwest winds.”
Thursday night with be dry and cool with long clear spells and lows of 2 to 5 degrees.
Those who are making plans for the long weekend can also expect dry and sunny weather on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Friday will also see highs of 12C, with the rest of the weekend to be mainly dry with light winds and sunny spells. “Mainly clear and cool at night with possible frost,” the forecast said.
