Donegal Town road to be closed due to road works

Donegal County Council wish to advise the public that maintenance works are planned at Tirchonaill Street Bridge, Donegal Town

Starting on Monday 21st March until 4th April, the works will take place between 9am and 7pm every day.

 Roads to be closed in both directions:

Tirchonaill Street (L-1925-3) from the entrance to the post office to the junction with Castle Street.

New Row (L-1925-4) from a point 25m east of Tirchonaill Bridge to a point 25m west of Tirchonaill Bridge.

Roads to be closed in one direction:

Water Street (L-1925-1) from the junction with Main Street to the junction with Castle Street, closed in a southerly direction (up hill), one way travel permitted in a northerly direction (down hill).

Castle Street (L-1925-2) from the junction with Water Street to the junction with Tirchonaill Street, closed in an easterly direction, one way travel permitted in a westerly direction (towards Tirchonaill Street).

Tirchonaill Street (L-1925-3), from the junction with Castle Street to the junction with The Diamond, closed in a northerly direction, one way travel permitted in a southerly direction.

Alternative Routes:

For vehicles travelling to the north of Tirchonaill Bridge the alternative route is via The Diamond, Main Street and Water Street and R267-2, R267-3, L-1925-1.

For vehicles travelling to the South of Tirchonaill Bridge the alternative route is via Water Street and Castle Street L-1925-1, L-1925-2.
