Ireland West Airport received a further boost for summer 2022 this week as they welcomed not only the return of Aer Lingus to the airport but also the news that Ryanair is significantly increasing capacity on some key services for summer 2022.
Sunday 13th March saw the return of Aer Lingus to the airport as they recommenced flights to London Gatwick. The service will operate daily for the summer season and beyond. London Gatwick airport is near Crawley, West Sussex, England south of Central London and the perfect gateway to explore South London and in particular Brighton which is only 43 minutes away by Train from Gatwick airport.
This week also saw Ryanair adding a third weekly frequency to their hugely popular service to Barcelona-Girona for this summer. Flights will now operate every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from the airport from June 3rd onwards whilst a new service on a Wednesday will operate for the months of April and May.

The good news didn’t end there either as Ryanair have also increased capacity on their popular services to Liverpool, East Midlands, Edinburgh and London Luton this summer adding an extra 25,000 seats across the three services from March 29th onwards. March 29th will also see Ryanair commence their brand new service to Birmingham which will operate twice weekly all year round.
