A woman has been shot dead in Dublin this evening (Sat).
The woman was shot in the chest in the Finglas area just before 9pm.
She was rushed to the Mater Hospital but later died from her injuries.
Gardaí and emergency services were called and the woman was treated at the scene.
The coroner has been notified and arrangements are being made for a post-mortem examination to be carried out by the State Pathologist.
The scene of the shooting at Collins Place in Finglas is currently preserved for a technical examination to be conducted by the Garda Technical Bureau.
No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.
