The Letterkenny Cathedral Quarter committee is inviting new members to be part of their success story.
The committee will be holding its Annual General Meeting in Dillons Hotel on Thursday, 31 March at 8pm after an absence of three years.
The organisation recently launched its Letterkenny 2040 document that outlines ten objectives to help in the development of the area.
A spokesperson said “In recent years our project has gone from strength to strength and was won National Awards. The Government has recognised the potential of the project when they awarded Donegal County Council €10.4 million under the Urban Regeneration Development Fund to develop a greater ‘Cathedral Quarter area. We are now looking for new members to help out with our annual events and help to build on that success.”
“We host an annual programme of events including St Brigid’s Day Crossmaking, Street Feast, Heritage Week, Culture Night, our Literary Festival and the Letterkenny Carol Trail. Last summer, we started the interactive ‘Cathedral Quarter Experience’ in conjunction with the Elusive Theatre where we told the story of the locality through different historical characters. We hope to continue to contribute to the social, economic and cultural life of Letterkenny.
“Our organisation is especially seeking people with expertise in Events organisation, Public Relations, Fundraising and sourcing Funding. If you feel would like to contribute to this dynamic innovative project, come along to our AGM in Dillons Hotel on Thursday, 30st March at 8pm. Play your part in this exciting chapter of Letterkenny. All are welcome.”
