A young woman was injured in a random attack in Letterkenny town centre on St. Patrick’s Day.
The incident occurred in an estate off the High Road in the early hours of the morning on March 17th. The victim was walking back from the town, between 3am and 4.10am when she was attacked by a man in Beechwood Park.
The woman received some injuries in the assault but they are not described as life-threatening.
She managed to recall a clear description of the man to gardaí, who released the details today as part of their investigation. The suspect is described as between 5ft 7in to 5ft 8in in height, aged mid to late 20s or early 30s, he had a shaved head and a beard, and he wore a distinctive red top Gilet jacket.
Gardaí said the assault was physical in nature and they did not disclose any known motive. The man was not known to the woman.
