A woman has appeared in court in Donegal charged with 13 charges of money laundering.

The 22 year old appeared at Letterkenny District Court where evidence in the case was given by Detective Peter Cullen.

He gave details of the arrest, charge and caution of Tiwalde Yusuff in connection with the charges.

Ms Yusuff of Sommerfield, Castlebar, County Mayo but now living in London made no reply when charged.

Garda Sergeant Jim Collins said the Director of Public Prosecutions had directed prosecution on indictment and that there were no objections to bail.

The accused woman’s solicitor, Ms Maureen Gallagher, told the court that Ms Yusuff is pregnant and will be on maternity leave shortly.

Legal aid was granted in the case.

Judge Gearty granted bail in the accused’s own bond of €500 and an independent surety of €1000.

A number of terms were ordered for the bail including that Yusuff is to be contactable by mobile phone and is not to commit any further offence and be of good behaviour.

The case was adjourned until May 21 next for a book of evidence.
