Daniel reveals his secret to a happy marriage

Singing star Daniel O’Donnell has shared his secret to a happy marriage –  a happy wife is a happy life.

Daniel and Majella have been together for more than 20 years. They tied the knot in 2002 in Daniel’s home village of Kincasslagh.

What’s keeping the relationship strong, according to Daniel, is respecting each other.

He told extra.ie: “I think a big part of it is that we respect our differences. The other thing is that we accept each other exactly the way we are. That might come from meeting later in life.

“I think when you’re older getting into a relationship, you may not know what you want, but you know exactly what you don’t want.

“You also have figured out that you can’t expect people to change. I think if you go into something thinking, well I don’t like so and so about them but I’ll work on that, you’re setting yourself up for trouble.”

Daniel said he and Majella enjoy each other’s company greatly when they are together. His busy schedule doesn’t allow for much downtime, but when he gets it, he shares it with his nearest and dearest.
