Motorists urged to take care due to foggy conditions

Donegal motorists are being urged to take care this morning due to fog.

Gardaí in Buncrana reported poor visibility in areas where there is low lying fog.

“Please drive carefully and remain alert,” a spokesperson said.

The advice from the Road Safety Authority (RSA) for driving in fog is to switch on dipped headlights and fog lamps, reduce speed and allow an extra safe distance to the vehicle in front.

Buncrana Roads Policing Unit had a positive report from their speed checks in the Burnfoot area this morning.

“All vehicles were being driven in a safe manner and within the speed limit.”
